David Beran is the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Philip Morris USA - a position he has held since July 2007. Between June 2005 and July 2007, he served as Executive Vice President of Finance, Planning & Information. In this position he was responsible for facilitating the overall business planning process for Philip Morris USA, as well as overseeing financial activities, market information analysis efforts and information services work. Prior to this appointment, he was Executive Vice President of Strategy, Communications & Consumer Contact.

Mr. Beran joined the Finance Group of Philip Morris USA in 1976. In 1990, he was appointed Vice President, Marketing Research & Planning and in 1994 Vice President, Discount Brands. Mr. Beran was appointed Vice President, Marlboro Promotions in February 1996. He served as Senior Vice President, Planning and Information from March 1, 1998 until he was named Senior Vice President, Operations in September of 2000.

Mr. Beran graduated from the University of Virginia where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 1976. In 1980, he received a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Richmond.
