Theodore L. Chandler Jr.Theodore L. Chandler, Jr. is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc., a leading provider of real estate transaction services that serves residential, commercial and lender customers throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe and Asia. LandAmerica was ranked number one in the Mortgage Services Industry on Fortune magazine’s 2008 list of “America’s Most Admired Companies” for two years in a row.
Mr. Chandler joined LandAmerica in 2000 and became Chief Operating Officer in 2002. He was promoted to President in 2004 and one year later became Chief Executive Officer. He added the title of Chairman of the Board on January 1, 2007.
In addition to serving on the Board of Directors of LandAmerica, Mr. Chandler serves on the Board of Directors of Hilb, Rogal and Hobbs Company, a New York Stock Exchange company, which is the world’s eighth largest property and casualty insurance broker. Mr. Chandler also serves on the Board of Directors of the Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia, a property and casualty mutual insurance company founded in 1794.

Mr. Chandler received his Juris Doctor from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond. He received his Bachelor of Science degree, with distinction, from the McIntire School of Commerce of the University of Virginia.
