James A. Hewitt Jr.
Director, Field Consultancy Program
Mason School of Business, College of William and Mary

Mr. Hewitt serves as an Adjunct Professor and Director of the Field Consultancy Program for the Mason School of Business of The College of William and Mary. As Director, he is responsible for organizing student consulting teams, contact client organizations and work closely with school faculty and outside Executive Partners who volunteer their time to this program. The Field Consultancy program is a required course for all Mason School MBA graduates. Prior to this role, he worked for Caltex Petroleum Corporation, a 50/50 joint venture between Chevron and Texaco corporations, whose operations are all in the international arena.

He gained 25 years experience with Caltex of which 20 years were overseas and included assignments in Japan as Director of Finance, as CFO for Hong Kong’s and for Thailand’s marketing subsidiaries and as Director of Finance Star Petroleum Refining in Thailand. He is experienced in developing financing strategies, currency and liquidity risks, joint ventures, start ups, and reorganizations.

Mr. Hewitt received his BS in Finance from the University of Richmond and his MBA from the University of Virginia.
