Richard S. JohnsonMr. Johnson is a native of Richmond, Virginia where he graduated from John Marshall High School and went on to the University of Richmond. He graduated from the University of Richmond with a BSBA degree and continued his education at Virginia Commonwealth University where he obtained an M.S. degree in 1977.
Mr. Johnson was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of The Wilton Companies in December, 2002. The Wilton Companies is a full service real estate development and brokerage company established in 1945 and specializes in the development, ownership and management of shopping centers, multi-family housing, office and warehouse/flex rental space in central and southern Virginia as well as eastern North Carolina.
In addition to being a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Richmond, Mr. Johnson is Chair of the Economic Development Authority of the City of Richmond, a member of the BB&T Advisory Board, a Director of Fidelity Group, LLC, a member of the Board of Trustees of The State Fair of Virginia and a Director Emeritus of Ducks Unlimited, Inc.
One of Mr. Johnson’s primary interests is wildlife conservation. He serves as Assistant Treasurer of Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and is a past Director of both Ducks Unlimited, Inc. and Ducks Unlimited Canada. Mr. Johnson is an avid sportsman who enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, scuba diving and skiing.
