Alessandro Terenghi was appointed President and CEO of Alfa Laval Inc. in September 2005 and is based at the company’s offices in Richmond, Virginia. He is responsible for leading Alfa Laval in the USA to drive profitable growth in its markets, leveraging the company’s key technologies of heat transfer, separation and fluid handling.

Mr. Terenghi joined Alfa Laval in 1982 as a Sales Engineer for the Thermal Business Area in Monza, Italy. Within that group, he also held the roles of Manager for Heat Transfer Components and Thermal Division Manager. In 1997 he became Managing Director of Alfa Laval Artec in Alonte, Italy, with responsibilities for the sales, marketing and operations of the group. Mr. Terenghi then took on the roles of Managing Director of Alfa Laval Italy and finally Managing Director of the Alfa Laval Adriatic region, comprising Italy, Greece, Albania, Malta and the former Yugoslavian countries (Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina). Prior to joining Alfa Laval, Mr. Terenghi worked in sales and product management capacities at Delchi/Westinghouse and Olivetti & Co in Italy.

Mr. Terenghi holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Milan, Italy. He completed post-graduate studies in Marketing and Business Administration at SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan. He has also completed an Executive Management program at the University of Virginia’s Darden Graduate School of Business Administration.
