Technology, Globalization and Innovation:
Strategies for Success

This is an intensive 3-week program designed with both in-class and out-of-class work.  There are 3 in-class session in total.*

The first in-class session will take place on a Wednesday night for three hours, providing for an introduction to the themes and topics of the course.  Out-of-class assignments will be given and should be done during the next two weeks. These include some individual work (readings and activities), as well as some team work that you will present in later class sessions. Class sessions will be devoted to foundation lectures, discussion of assigned readings, presentation of team exercises, and case analysis.  This format was designed to limit the amount of time taken from the work day.

Dr. Candace DeansDr. Candace Deans has twenty years experience teaching, research and consulting in international business and information technology.  She graduated with a PH.D. degree in international business and information technology from the University of South Carolina, a leader in international business education.  Dr. Deans taught at Wake Forest University and Thunderbird School of Global Management before coming to the University of Richmond.  She has traveled extensively and taught seminars around the world. While at the University of Richmond, Dr. Deans has taught IT classes in the undergraduate and MBA programs.  More recently, she has traveled extensively in Asia and studied technology trends in that part of the world.  She took students to China in 2009 and the Middle East (Dubai and Qatar) in 2008.  She received a teaching award at University of Richmond in 2006 and is currently one of three finalists for a national teaching award for the Decision Sciences Institute, a leading academic institution.
