The David Meade White Distinguished Teaching Fellow was established in 2001 by Nancy Grandis White and other family and friends to honor members of the Robins School of Business faculty who had shown exemplary commitment to students' total education over many years. In keeping with Judge White's philosophy of education, while a University of Richmond professor, the Fellow is a person who has high standards, views education holistically, and who educates students to become good citizens as well as good business leaders.

The Award is given at the Annual Honors Convocation. It carries a $2,500 professional development stipend. The annual honoree is chosen by the Dean of the Robins School of Business, in consultation with the School's Academic Affairs Council. Ms. Nancy Grandis White and other members of Judge White's family and friends are invited to the annual Convocations and receive periodic reports from the Fellow.
