- Most U.S. states and territories, including Virginia, have passed legislation requiring five years of post-secondary education for CPA licensing.
- The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that employment of accountants and auditors is expected to grow by 18 percent between 2006 and 2016, which is faster than the average for all occupations.
- A master's degree is quickly becoming a prerequisite for a job in public accounting.
