Three Robins School accounting majors win Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants scholarships

University of Richmond seniors Torisereju Mike and Jamie Raab, both of Richmond, and junior Will Kent of Chesterfield have been awarded scholarships by the Virginia Society of CPAs Educational Foundation.

Mike and Kent each received $1,500 minority awards, and Raab received a $1,500 undergraduate award. The scholarships were three of 16 awards totaling $25,000 from the VSCPA's foundation to accounting majors in Virginia.

Candidates are required to have completed at least three credit hours and be enrolled in three additional hours of accounting, with a grade point average of at least 3.0 in the subject. Other selection criteria include overall academic performance, entry essay, faculty recommendations, and community and/or extracurricular activities.

The VSCPA Educational Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization promoting business and accounting education with academic scholarships to encourage students to pursue careers in accounting.
