Robins School of Business appoints new members to Executive Advisory Council

Ten local business leaders have been appointed to the Robins School of Business’ Executive Advisory Council at the University of Richmond.

The council recommends outreach programs, advises the Robins School on curriculum enhancements and offers career guidance and mentoring to business students.

New members for 2007–08 include:

Peter Bernard, CEO, Bon Secours Richmond Health System Inc.–With more than 25 years of health care leadership, Bernard oversees four hospitals and a network of physician practices, outpatient and diagnostic facilities, home care services, and hospice care providers. He serves on the boards of the Greater Richmond chapter of the American Red Cross, St. Joseph’s Villa and Venture Richmond. He is a member of the Management Roundtable and the Forum Club, and he will serve as the campaign chair of the 2007 United Way of Greater Richmond-Petersburg.

Katherine Busser, executive vice president and chief information officer, Capital One Financial Services Inc..–As chief risk officer of Capital One’s U.S. credit card division, Busser manages an infrastructure of approximately $1 billion. She started her career with the company working in marketing and analysis, and assumed her current post two years ago. She chairs Gov. Tim Kaine’s Start Strong Council and serves on the board of  the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce.

Ted Chandler, chairman and CEO, LandAmerica Financial Group Inc.–Chandler joined LandAmerica, a national real estate firm, as chief operating officer in 2000. He serves on several boards of directors along with LandAmerica’s, including Hilb, Rogal & Hobbs Co., Mutual Assurance Society of Virginia, American Land Title Association, SunTrust Bank Central Virginia, Richmond Region 2007 Corp., Virginia Foundation for Independent Colleges, VCU Massey Cancer Center and United Way. He also is a member the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce executive committee.

Michael Dan, chairman, president and CEO, The Brink’s Company–Dan joined Brink’s in 1982 as director-automotive design, working his way up to president, CEO and chairman. He is a member of the board of directors of The Principal Financial Group and is subcommittee chairman of the security task force for The Business Roundtable. He is vice chairman of the Kennedy Center Corporate Fund Board, serves on the Bretton Woods Committee and is a member of the Management Roundtable.

Michael Paulette, managing director, Core Consulting Inc.–With more than 30 years experience in treasury management and payment systems, Paulette is responsible for business consulting and marketing support services at the Richmond-based business and technology consulting firm. A U.S. Army veteran and retired Bank of America executive, he has served in leadership roles for a number of industry organizations and currently is on the board of the Richmond chapter of the Association for Corporate Growth.

John E. (Jack) Reagan III, partner in charge, KPMG LLP–As a partner in the audit practice of KPMG in Washington, Reagan specializes in auditing federal, state and local higher education, not-for-profit and charitable organizations. He also is the mid-Atlantic partner in charge of campus recruiting for the company.

Chris Ricciardi, CEO, Cohen & Company–As CEO, Ricciardi oversees the investment mnagement firm’s $45.3 billion in fixed income assets. His career began at Prudential Securities as a trader of mortgage and asset backed securities. At Credit Suisse First Boston he was managing director and head of U.S. secured credit products and later held a similar position at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. During his tenure at CSFB and Merrill Lynch, both companies were recognized as top performers in underwriting.

Antonio Riera, senior partner and managing director, The Boston Consulting Group–Riera brings more than 25 years in financial services to BCG as its global leader of exchanges and securities services. Previously, he was the company’s global leader of transaction banking. He frequently works with ministers of finance and other senior government officials and regulators on financial center strategies and market development policy issues. He worked 15 years with Citibank before joining BCG.

Allessandro Terenghi, president and CEO, Alfa Laval–Terenghi was appointed president and CEO of Alfa Laval in September 2005 and is based at the Swedish company’s Richmond office. He joined Alfa Laval in 1982 as a sales engineer for its thermal business in Monza, Italy. Previously, he worked in sales and product management at Delchi/Westinghouse and Olivetti & Co. in Italy.

Michel Zajur, president and CEO, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (ex-officio)–Born in Mexico City, Zajur has been the owner of his family’s La Siesta Mexican Restaurant in Richmond for more than 30 years. In 2000, he established the Virginia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. Zajur is a founding board member of the business forum Lead Virginia and has served on many boards of directors, including the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, the  chamber’s foundation, the Greater Richmond chapter of the American Red Cross, United Way, Catholic Charities, Performing Arts Foundation, Sorenson Institute for Political Leadership and the Retail Merchants Association of Greater Richmond.
