Robins School Executive Education to host international graduate business students from France's Rouen School of Management

Thirty-four masters degree students from Rouen School of Management, one of Europe's top business schools, will arrive in Richmond March 28 for a week-long program to acquaint them with doing business in the United States.

Organized by the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond, the week will include special lectures and discussions on American business, politics, history, culture and leadership, as well as meetings with executives and government officials in Richmond and Washington, D.C.

The Rouen students hail from at least seven countries, including France, China and India.

The Robins School's International Programs Center and Executive Education division arranged the itinerary, including sessions on the American economic and financial system, outsourcing, and organizational communication to be taught by Robins faculty. Professors from the university's School of Arts & Sciences will present special classes on the U.S. political system, as well as American history and culture.

Richmond Chancellor Richard Morrill will present a session on strategic leadership.    

The visiting students will attend briefings at the U.S. headquarters of Alfa Laval in Richmond and the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington. Those sessions have been designed to offer insight into how international companies do business in the U.S. Alfa Laval is a client of Robins School Executive Education.

The itinerary also includes some time for visiting other businesses and sightseeing in Colonial Williamsburg and Washington.

"This represents a unique collaboration of our International Business and our Executive Education programs in developing new innovative opportunities with our international partner schools," said Jorge Haddock, dean of the Robins School, which was recently ranked No. 12 by BusinessWeek in its annual ratings of undergraduate business schools.
