Robins School of Business to host 2008 Stakeholder Conference

University of Richmond’s Robins School of Business will host and co-sponsor the 2008 Stakeholder Conference with the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business Nov. 14-15.
Twenty academic experts in stakeholder theory representing 10 universities from around the country will gather to discuss stakeholder theory and its relevance in today’s challenging world economic climate. Participants will present five papers on stakeholder theory for review and discussion.
Stakeholder theory is the theory of organizational management and business ethics that addresses morals and values in managing an organization.
Conference organizers and Robins School management professors Robert Phillips and Jeff Harrison have published books on the subject of stakeholder theory. Phillips is author of Stakeholder Theory and Organizational Ethics, and Harrison, with R. Edward Freeman and Andrew Wicks of the Darden School, is co-author of Managing for Stakeholders: Survival, Reputation, and Success.
