Dean's Note

Dear Friends,

As classes are now underway for the 2008 - 2009 academic year, we are looking forward to another very productive and exciting year at the Robins School. As you will note in this e-newsletter, we continue to focus and capitalize on our very successful International Business programs. Expanding our global reach will continue to position the Robins School as one of the leading business schools, not only in the nation but in the world. Following our admittance into CLADEA (Latin America Council of Management Schools) last year, this summer it was announced that the Robins School was the first school in the U.S. to be admitted into the Association of Asia-Pacific Business Schools. This will greatly expand our presence in this fast-growing market. The Robins School is also achieving record numbers for our undergraduate and graduate programs in the following areas, with stories describing each in detail throughout this newsletter:

  • Students studying abroad
  • International students at the Robins School
  • International partner schools
  • International faculty members
  • Faculty members doing international research
  • International student internships
  • International case studies

This year, we are focusing efforts on expanding our presence at multi-national companies from Richmond and throughout the world, through our Executive Education program (formerly the Management Institute). This will also greatly assist corporate opportunities locally, regionally and abroad for both our undergraduate and graduate students. For more than 40 years, Executive Education at the Robins School has provided leadership, management and executive development programs to organizations around the country. Our educational offerings are designed to address the most relevant workplace issues and to help leaders understand themselves, their associates, and their industries more completely. For more information on Robins School Executive Education programs, please visit http://business.richmond.edu/execed/index.html.

The Robins School continues to excel due in part to the passionate involvement from our many alumni, parents, and corporate partners. We appreciate your great interest and support over the years. I am looking forward to our continued collaboration.

Warmest regards,

Jorge Haddock
