Dean's Note

Dear Robins School Community:

Another productive and very successful academic year comes to a close for the Robins School. As highlighted throughout this e-newsletter, our faculty, staff, and students continue to thrive and produce great work making the Robins School of Business one of the best business schools in the nation. Our graduating seniors are, once again, well prepared in every regard to succeed in their chosen careers. If you are an employer in need of innovative and global thinkers who are equipped to make an immediate positive impact to your organization, please contact Yolanda Macklin Crewe at ymacklin@richmond.edu or (804)285-0528 at the University's Career Development Center. She can connect you with our rising seniors or recent graduates for internships and/or job opportunities.

As many of you already know, June 30, 2009, will be my last day as Dean of the Robins School of Business, as I will immediately begin my new position as Dean of the School of Management at George Mason University on July 1, 2009. Dr. Bob Schmidt, our highly respected Professor and Chair of the Robins School Economics Department, will serve as the Interim Dean. It has been an honor and pleasure serving you and the Robins School community. I am very proud of our numerous accomplishments including our Top 12 BusinessWeek ranking, the completion of the fundraising campaign for Queally Hall, attracting and retaining top faculty from around the world, and the Robins School's continued expansion of its global presence.

I thank you for your many contributions and support these past few years, and I hope our paths will cross again. I wish you and all those involved with the Robins School continued success.

Warmest regards,

Jorge Haddock
Dean
