Patricia L. Rowland 

Ms. Rowland was named to the senior management team for CIGNA HealthCare in April 1995. She is responsible for the HMO (including Medicare) business. Prior to her current position as Senior Vice President of CIGNA HealthCare, Ms. Rowland served as president of Philadelphia-based Intracorp, a leading provider of health care management services for group health and workers' compensation. She joined Intracorp, a CIGNA HealthCare subsidiary, in December 1993 from CIGNA Property & Casualty, where she was senior vice president.

Ms. Rowland began her career at CIGNA in July 1983 as a territorial manager for the Property & Casualty Agency Division and advanced through a variety of other management positions at CIGNA in underwriting, sales, and marketing. Before joining CIGNA, she worked as a producer and assistant vice president at Corroon & Black of Missouri.

Ms. Rowland earned a bachelor's degree in biology and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Richmond in 1977 and 1981, respectively. She is a former member of the board of directors for the Insurance Society of Philadelphia, the governing committee for the Missouri FAIR plan, and the executive committee of the Missouri Market Assistance Program.
