The Robins Summer Business Institute is an intensive three-week program designed to offer non-business majors the fundamental for success in the business world. Held at the Robins School of Business, a top 20 business school, this program will set you apart from the crowd. You'll gain solid grounding in business fundamentals as well as career essentials, all the while networking with an exceptional group of individuals from other top 20 institutions.

Undergraduates or recent college graduates that are/were non-business majors.

Yes. You do not need to be a University of Richmond student to apply. Students from other schools are welcome to apply.

Classes begin June 7, 2010, and continue through June 25, 2010. Courses are scheduled Monday through Thursday, with the "soft-skills" (special presentations, career and networking events, etc.) occurring on Fridays. Classes will run from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. with adequate breaks throughout. Some evening events are planned.

No. The Robins Summer Business Institute is only offered once each June.

The Robins Summer Business Institute is a non-credit program, and grades will not be given. This format allows us to be very dynamic and flexible in our structuring of the program, adapting to the rapidly changing business environment. In addition, it allows us the flexibility to structure part of the program around key "soft skills,"such as resume writing, networking and etiquette. Upon completion of the Robins Summer Business Institute, students will be given a Certificate of Business Education. The certificate is verification that you have acquired the fundamentals of business and are ready to apply those concepts in today's corporate world.

Business casual for classes and most events. A few events may require business professional attire.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but space in the program is limited. Priority will be given on a first-come, first-served basis.

While there is no "application fee," a non-refundable deposit of $750 is required to hold your place in the program. This amount will be due within three weeks of your notification of acceptance into the program.The remaining balance will be due prior to the start of classes.

A completed application includes: 1) a submitted online application and 2) sending in at least one letter of recommendation from a professor, mentor or supervisor qualified to assess your skills, abilities and enthusiasm (minimum of one letter required).

Yes. One letter of recommendation is required. Any additional recommendations will be accepted for consideration.

No. The courses taught in the Robins Summer Business Institute are designed to give those students without a business background a foundation in the field. The courses are not designed for those already grounded in business acumen.

Materials will be reviewed upon receipt of your completed application. You will be notified of the status of your application within two weeks.

The cost of the program is $4995. This fee covers the cost of the courses, textbooks and any course materials, weekday continental breakfast, and weekday lunches. The cost of any program events or fieldtrips is also covered.

No. At this time, there is no financial aid available for this program.

No. GMAT scores are not required.

Upon notification of acceptance, you will have 3 weeks to submit your deposit. You will have the option to pay by check or credit card. If you wish to pay by credit card, a representative from the Robins School of Business will contact you directly to obtain that information. The Robins School has multiple computer stations available to students, as does the University campus; however, you will most likely want to have your own laptop available to work on any assignments you are given.

Yes. Parking is available to students in the program, and parking passes for the parking lots will be made available during your time here.
