Except by permission of the Dean, ACCT 201-202, ECON 101-102, and BUAD 201 are prerequisites to all other courses in the Robins School of Business. The business minor program requires a student to complete ACCT 201-202, ECON 101-102, and BUAD 201 (or equivalent) prior to taking any other business class. ACCT 202 is not a prerequisite for BUAD 301. ACCT 202 may be taken simultaneously with MKT 320, MGMT 330 and 340, FIN 360, and/or BUAD 391 and 392.

 

Students must have a declared major or minor within the Business School in order to register for core and/or upper level business courses.

Notes:

1. Required for those entering the University of Richmond as first-year students in the Fall of 2008 and thereafter.

2. IBUS students will substitute BUAD 497 with IBUS 411.

3. Students with and accounting concentration must have a second concentration. ACCT 307 cannot be used for the concentration. ACCT 301 is a required course that counts towards the 4-6 units.

4. Includes one internationally focused economics course such as: ECON 210 The Economics of the European Union, ECON 211 Economic Development in Asia, Africa, and Latin America, or ECON 310 International Trade and Finance, or some other international focused economics elective approved by the Associate Dean for International Programs.

5. Includes the Entrepreneurship sequence.

6. Marketing 326 is a required course that counts towards the 4-6 units.

 

Students must also complete the university's general education curriculum and maintain a 2.00 GPA in their business coursework. Students matriculating in the Fall of 2008 and thereafter will need 35 units total to graduate. Students matriculating before the Fall of 2008 will need 34.29 units.

 

Additionally, 17 units of coursework must be taken outside of the business school. Included in these 17 units are the general education requirements, ECON 101, ECON 102, BUAD 201, and BUAD 301.
