National Conference on Undergraduate Research

Economics students in either the Senior Honors Seminar or the Economics Senior Capstone are required to write an independent research paper as part of these classes.  Students who have done exemplary work on these projects are encouraged to submit them for presentation to the National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR).

Students whose papers are accepted to the conference travel with a faculty member to the host university and present their research to faculty and students from other universities throughout the country.  Accepted papers also have the possibility of being published in the conference proceedings.

Timeline for the NCUR conference is:

  • December - Submission of abstracts for consideration
  • February - Conference registration
  • April - Conference presentations

If you want to be considered for the NCUR conference, you must take the following courses your senior year:

  • ECON 480 Economics Senior Capstone
  • ECON 490 Economics Honors Seminar
